CMI Wales is the professional development and networking community for CMI members living and and/or working in Wales. The CMI Wales Board is made up of a diverse group of CMI members who volunteer their time and experience to support and represent the needs and interests of members in their area.

CMI Wales/Cymru facilitates and supports professional development and networking for CMI members who live and/or work in Wales. The volunteers who form our Board are all members within the nation who believe passionately in the vision, mission and values of CMI and the importance of excellent leadership and management for all individuals and organisations.
Our focus at CMI is on preventing ‘accidental management’, at some time in your career you may have found yourself promoted to manage other people without the necessary experience, technical skills or support. CMI provides professional training and development to make sure we become competent and confident leaders and get the best from our teams and ourselves.
The CMI Wales volunteer Board works closely with the CMI national executive and our fellow Regional Boards, we have also forged strong links with other professional bodies based in Wales, higher and further education institutions, employers and other community partners, all aligned to CMI’s Professional Standard. We are a growing network committed to organising relevant events, sharing best practice and information for the benefit of you, our local members.

Emma has been a member of CMI since 2016 when she gained Chartered Manager status. Educated in Bristol and Manchester Universities she’s currently a Professional Development Expert at Corndel, delivering transformational leadership and management courses to senior business leaders across multiple sectors in the UK. Previously she worked as the Head of the Exploration & Development in an energy consultancy, where her team of geoscientists helped their clients find energy resources globally.
Emma has extensive strategic leadership experience and is passionate about helping people to become the best leader they can be. Emma is a Level 7 accredited Executive coach and uses this style to pose thought provoking questions to those she works with.
Emma joined the board as Communications and Social Mead lead and has now taken up the mantle of Events Lead. She has led thought provoking events on workplace wellbeing, employability, emotional intelligence and leading through change.
Dave Bolton is a Fellow of the IEEP, Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and of the Higher Education Academy. Having spent in excess of 20 years working in private industry, mainly in the fields of sales and marketing management, he decided to move into entrepreneurship setting up a successful electrical contracting business, as well as entering academia where he currently works in Swansea School of Management.
He is currently Director of Enterprise and Employability and Programme Director for the Swansea School of Management’s BSc Business Management undergraduates. In his spare time David enjoys cycling, running, reading and as a passionate Welshman, rugby.
Dr Clair Doloriert is Senior Lecturer at Bangor Business School and Head of Year 1 Undergraduates. Clair became a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) in 2020 for her excellence and leadership in teaching and learning. Further to this she is a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI) and an Academic Associate of the CIPD (AACIPD). In the 2017 University Graduation Ceremony, Clair was recognised for her excellence and innovation in teaching, and was awarded a prestigious Bangor University Teaching Fellowship.
Clair is also the Academic Lead Academic for the CMI Level 7 Dual Accredited Postgraduate Degrees in Strategic Management & Leadership at Bangor Business School, and is passionate about championing the CMI in Wales Higher Education. Further to her role as Academic Lead for the CMI at the Business School, she is a moderator for undergraduate programmes in Business, Tourism and Events at Grwp Llandrillo Menai, ensuring high quality and rigor throughout Bangor validated programmes. Clair is enjoys collaborating with industry through research and doctoral supervision including recent/ current projects with organisations such as Siemens and First Hydro. One of Clair’s master’s students recently won CMI Student of the Year 2022, which was a hugely proud moment in her career.
Clair has held other leadership roles including the Head of the Business and Management subject group on the School Teaching and Learning Committee until January 2020. The Deputy Director for Centre for Business Research, Deputy/Senior Personal Tutor for all BBS students; the Quality Assurance and Validation Officer for all Bangor Business School Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes. Clair was the Programme Lead for all Travel, Tourism and Hsopitality programmes that are run by Bangor University’s MDIST partner institutions in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She completed a complex quadripartite project management and development of a suite of two new undergraduate programmes in International Travel, Tourism and Hospitality for MDIST. Clair is also involved with several other universities including Manchester Business School, Hull University Business School and Centrum Catolica, Lima Peru.
An accomplished C-level executive with a proven track record of driving business growth, building high-performing teams, and delivering transformative results on mega projects for Fortune 500 companies. With expertise in the built environment across developed and emerging economies, Neil’s experience spans infrastructure, industrial and defence projects, high-tech facilities, water solutions, and major programs. A Chartered Engineer (CEng), Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE), Chartered Management Institute Companion (CMgr CCMI), and Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), he holds a BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of South Wales. Neil serves on multiple boards, is a STEM Ambassador, a Freeman of the City of London, and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators. An avid cyclist, he raises funds for cancer charities through his rides.
I am an Engineer by profession with a passion for Sales. I completed my Post Graduate degree from University of Warwick and have been working for a global conglomerate for over 17 years. My work experience spans across a number of industries mainly in the Engineering and Manufacturing sectors. I enjoy reading, listening to music and watching sports in my free time.
Kristy joined the CMI regional board for Wales in 2024 where she lives and works. A strategic leader with a career in delivering long term sustainable change, Kristy is an expert in Resource Efficiency and the Circular Economy and has worked in the public sector for the past 15 years . She previously worked in the private sector at Rolls Royce and has undertaken volunteer roles in the third sector.
Kristy is a lifetime learner with a thirst for knowledge and credits her leadership journey with the many benefits of formalised training alongside practical day to day experiences. With academic qualifications in Waste Management and Project Management, she is a member of the Chartered Institute of Wastes Management (CIWM) and Association for Project Management and an ILM Level 7 qualified Coach and Mentor. Keen to inspire and support our future managers and leaders to create a better environment for our future generations.
Anthony is a Senior Lecturer in Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the South Wales Business School, and course leader for the BSc International Business and Management course. Anthony is a diversity management consultant and has worked with several large organisations both inside and outside of Wales.
Anthony has a keen interest in both our seen and unseen characteristics of diversity, how they overlap with each other, and the impact of this on managers and leaders. These factors are a large feature within Anthony’s PhD research.
Moving to Wales from London over 20 years ago, Anthony is fully embedded into Welsh culture from social, personal, and professional perspectives. In his spare time he enjoys keeping active after hanging up his football boots several years ago. He also enjoys reading and speaking to anybody who will listen.
Millie Tomlin-Davies is the Communications and Social Media Lead for CMI Wales. In this role, it is Millie’s mission to serve as the bridge between the organisation and its audience, using digital tools to inform, engage, and inspire.
Millie is a final-year student studying Business Management at Swansea University. Millie spent her placement year working as a trainee consultant for Deloitte Switzerland’s Strategy and Business Design Team. Millie is also a Non-Executive Member of the National Museum of The Royal Navy’s Youth Advisory Board. These professional experiences have shaped Millie’s passion for guiding organisational strategy and understanding and delivering value to customers.
In her free time, Millie enjoys sports, particularly if it can be found on or in the water! Millie is an accomplished swimmer and sailor, winning national medals and leading the University Sailing Society.
